What is BackupShortlist?

BackupShortlist compares cloud storage and backup serviceswithout a stake in which one you end up choosing. The aim is a quick, defensible decision: services are set against each other on what they cost, how they hold up, and how useful they are in daily practice, with a direct link to each provider's official site.

How we work

  • A service earns its place on quality and usefulness, not on the size of the commission it pays.
  • Prices and features are verified against the providers' own pages and refreshed on a schedule; what you pay often depends on how much you store.
  • Ratings are editorial judgements that weigh ease of use, feature set, free allowances and price.
  • The advice here is general: it is meant to narrow your choice, not to replace your own check of the plan you pick.

The complete method, down to which data goes in and why a commission cannot shift a position, is written up under how we rank.

Independence and funding

Using BackupShortlist costs nothing. Some links are affiliate links: sign up through one and we may receive a small commission. Nothing is added to your price, and the commission has no bearing on which cloud storage and backup services we recommend. The details are in the disclaimer and the privacy policy.

Who is behind it?

BackupShortlist belongs to the Shortlist family of comparison sites, run by Orai Media, a Dutch company that builds independent comparison and advice sites. The site is a continuing project: prices are re-read, comparisons are extended and verdicts are revisited as the market moves.
